Signs You May Have Music Induced Tinnitus

Tinnitus (TIN-ni-tus) is the sensation or perception of hearing noises in your ears or head when there is no external sound.

It may be a constant or temporary sound which is often described as a humming, buzzing, hissing, or whooshing. You may also hear people who have tinnitus say they have a ‘ringing in their ears’. It might seem like it’s in both ears or one ear and often people think the noise is coming from elsewhere before they realise it’s actually coming from inside their head.

Tinnitus currently affects approximately one in three people at some point in their lives and one in ten people have tinnitus that doesn’t go away.

Music induced Tinnitus can be managed but is preventable by wearing good quality hearing protection when attending loud music concerts, DJ’ing, playing in a band or when exposed to very loud noises.
